How to increase the text size on Apple TV in tvOS 27

Learn how to increase the overall system text size on Apple TV in tvOS 27 if you have difficulty seeing the on-screen options in their default size.

tvOS automatically adjusts the on-screen text size based on the television’s screen size. But that isn’t always enough for all users.

Before tvOS 27, if you couldn’t see the text properly on your screen, your only option was to enable bold text, which made the words fatter and more legible for people with weak eyesight.

tvOS 27 adds a long-requested text resizer that lets you adjust the size to a level you’re comfortable with.

By the way, the text resizer feature is also available on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch, so you don’t have to squint your eyes irrespective of which screen you’re on.

Increase text size on Apple TV

    1) Update your Apple TV 4K (2nd or 3rd generation) to tvOS 27 (currently in beta).

    2) Sit at the same distance from the television as you normally would when watching movies and shows.

    3) Open the Settings app.

    4) Select Accessibility.

    5) Go to Display.

    6) Select the new Text Size option.

    7) Drag the slider to the right to increase the text size. You have nine levels to choose from, with the leftmost one being the default and the rightmost being the maximum. You’ll see the new text size preview at the top so you can easily decide which level you’re comfortable with.

    8) Once done, just click the back button or exit the Settings app.

Now open an app like Apple Music, and you’ll see the text enlarged. If the new text size isn’t reflected, quit and reopen the app or just restart your Apple TV using the main wall switch.

Also note that you may not notice a noticeable difference in text size in all apps, especially those that don’t support Dynamic Type.

Plus, in many apps like Settings, the border around the text or other similar on-screen interface also becomes huge, while the overall text size increases only slightly.

How to use the new consolidated Find My app in watchOS 27

Learn how to use the new Find My app on your Apple Watch running watchOS 27 to keep track of your devices, AirTags, and family members straight from your wrist.

New watchOS 27 Find My app

Find My isn’t a new app, but it’s for Apple Watch. This is because, before watchOS 27, Apple Watch had three separate apps that did the job of a single Find My app. These apps were:

    • Find People
    • Find Devices, and
    • Find Items

Apple had these three apps because cramming all the features into one on a device with a tiny screen would not have been very user-friendly.

But now that the watch screens are larger than before and people are used to smartwatches, Apple developers and software designers have finally worked their charm and assembled all three separate Find My features into a single app, bringing it in line with iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.

Here’s a quick summary of how to get this new Find My app on your Apple Watch and how to use it.

Use the new Find My app on Apple Watch

Make sure Find My is enabled on your iPhone (Settings > Apple Account > Find My) and then follow these steps.

    1) Update your Apple Watch to watchOS 27 (currently it’s in beta).

    2) Open the new Find My app.

    3) Tap the icon you see in the top left corner of the screen. It could be:

    • Two-person icon – Find People
    • MacBook and iPhone icon – Find Devices
    • Four AirTags icon – Find Items
    • Location icon – About your current location

Note: Swipe up on the bottom bar to view them all as a list and select one. Then, tap the two-arrows icon to sort alphabetically or by distance.

    6) Tap Items to:

    • Locate items attached to your AirTags or supported third-party trackers.
    • If you have a newer Apple Watch, you can also use Precision Finding to pinpoint the location of your AirTags.
    • Play an alert sound to find the item.
    • Activate Lost Mode.
    • Manage when found or left-behind alerts.
    • See the tracker’s serial number and firmware.

    7) The last option is called “Me,” which lets you disable or re-enable your location sharing and also decide whether you want to get friend requests for location sharing from others.

Given the smaller screen size, the Find My app on Apple Watch is not very convenient to use. But still, when your iPhone isn’t around, you can use it to do all the core things that you would do in the Find My app on a bigger screen.
