Come On- It’s Only Rain

Everything was cancelled this weekend due to the big hurricane on the east coast.  Maybe on the coast it was an issue and further north but in the DC area the storm was a joke.  It made the meteorologists look like they cried wolf.  No water available for purchase anywhere.  I think this was a big marketing campaign.  We have more rain and wind from a single thunderstorm then this storm kicked out.  We were booked this weekend to do Macintosh Support for the local Jimmy Buffett show and then the next night the Foreigner/Journey show but they were all cancelled days in advance.  Most of our rain came late last night and it is clearing up now and supposed to be sunny so both of the shows could have actually happened.  Now please don’t get me wrong.  Places from Ocean City, MD North saw more damage but again most of the damage was from flooding due to the storm surge as the storm moved very slowly and pushed water inland.   But Washington, DC is inland.  I don’t think they should have included Washington, DC in any of the watches and warnings.

Last night we were shocked that entire shopping centers were closed FOR NO REASON other then an excuse to close down.   It was hardly raining outside.  The outside bar./restaurant near us was PACKED with people just to show how much money was lost to the economy.   I think it is just plain laziness.  We still provide 24.7 Macintosh Support and remote mac help rain or shine.  We can’t close and neither should the other business.
