Apple announces WWDC25 keynote will start on June 9 at 10am

Apple has announced the WWDC25 schedule, confirming it will hold a keynote to preview iOS 19 and other software on June 9, starting at 10am PDT / 1pm EDT.
“WWDC25 kicks off with a first look at the groundbreaking updates coming to Apple platforms,” the company announced today. After the keynote ends, the iPhone maker will hold a similar keynote in the afternoon at 1pm, dubbed the Platforms State of the Union, which servers as a deep technical dive into the new technologies.
The main keynote will be live-streamed through Apple’s website, the TV app and the company’s official YouTube channel. The Platforms State of the Union keynote will be available to stream via the Apple website, in the official Apple Developer app, and through the Apple Developer YouTube channel. Apple has already updated the Developers app with WWDC25 assets. On-demand playback will be available after the conclusion of both streams.
The WWDC25 keynote will start on June 9 at 10am
Like prior WWDCs held since the pandemic, this year’s conference will be mostly an online-only even with pre-taped presentation videos broadcast online. However, there will be limited in-person attendance for more than 1,000 developers and students who will attend a special event at Apple Park on June 9.

Those developers will be able to connect with Apple’s experts through online group labs and one-on-one appointments. Apple engineers and designers will also be available on the Apple Developer forums to share tips and take developer questions.
With over 100 technical sessions, WWDC25 offers developers a chance to dive deep into the latest technologies and frameworks with Apple experts. Videos of these sessions will be available to watch in the Apple Developer app, via the Apple website, and on its YouTube channel. Developers will also be able to access relevant guides and documentation through the Apple Developer website.
Apple also said it is “proud to support developers through the Swift Student Challenge, one of many Apple programs that seek to uplift the next generation of entrepreneurs, coders and designers.” For the second year in a row, the company recognized 50 winners for their “outstanding submissions,” who will be invited to visit Apple Park “for a special three-day experience.”
What is WWDC?
Worldwide Developer’s Conference, or WWDC, is Apple’s annual five-day pilgrimage for developers help in June. Apple previously announced that this year’s conference will take place June 9-13. Today’s announcement promises “a week of technology, innovation and creativity” as the company unveiled the full schedule and lineup.
Though a developer-focused event, the WWDC is important for Apple fans as the company has traditionally previewed major advancements for its software platforms at the WWDC before releasing them for everyone to use in the fall.
When will the first iOS 19 beta arrive?
The first developer-only betas of iOS 19, iPadOS 19, macOS 16 and other OS updates will drop shortly after the keynote concludes. Beta versions of these operating systems available for public beta testing will arrive a few weeks later.
Apple will continue releasing new betas throughout the summer before the new operating system are released for public consumption sometime in the fall. Among other improvements and changes, iOS 19, iPadOS 19 and macOS 16 are said to bring a major revamp of the user interfaces across the iPhone, iPad and Mac.
