Sequoia lets you use iCloud accounts and features within macOS virtual machines

Virtualization under macOS Sequoia saw some improvements, so now you can finally sign into iCloud within a macOS virtual machines (VM).
Virtualization software like Parallels or VMware (available free) enables anyone to run another operating system like Linux or another instance of macOS in a window alongside their current operating system on their Mac. This is very handy for software testing across multiple macOS versions which can all run on a single machine.
The Virtualization framework Apple provides is the official way for developers to implement virtualization software on Apple silicon systems. However, it has some limitations like the inability to sign into iCloud in a macOS virtual machine.
macOS Sequoia lets macOS virtual machines use iCloud
macOS Sequoia addresses this omission. As a result, you can now sign into iCloud when running another macOS instance in virtualization. Why does this matter? Because it is now possible to use the iCloud features and synchronize settings, data and apps with iCloud in VMs. There are some caveats though.
Your Mac must use at least macOS Sequoia and the VM must also be Sequoia or newer. Signing into iCloud when virtualizing an older macOS version is unsupported, even if the host operating system is macOS Sequoia or newer.
Andrew Cunningham, ArsTachnica:
This is still limiting for developers, who might want to run an older version of macOS on their hardware while still testing macOS 15 in a VM, or those who want to do the reverse so that they can more easily support multiple versions of macOS with their apps. It also doesn’t apply to VMs that are upgraded from an older version of macOS to Sequoia.
In other words, you must create a new VM from a macOS 15 install image to sign into iCloud within the VM. Apple’s developer documentation states that using a macOS 15 installer to upgrade an older VM does provide support for iCloud.
