At the beginning of March of this year, Apple introduced watchOS 6.2 to the public, which brought irregular heartbeat rhythm and ECG notifications to Chile, Turkey, and New Zealand. And now it’s heading to Saudi Arabia.

As noted today by 9to5Mac, owners of supported Apple Watch models in Saudi Arabia will soon be able to use notifications for the ECG app and irregular heartbeat rhythms. The ECG app in general will be a new addition for users in Saudi Arabia, and will allow them to take an electrocardiogram, which measures the electrical pulses of the heart.

Apple seeded the Golden Master version of watchOS 6.2.5 to developers today.

If the watch measures an irregular heartbeat rhythm, the wearable can send a notification to the owner letting them know if the issue. Running an ECG is not required to get a notification.

In addition to this new feature for Saudi Arabia, the watchOS 6.2.5 software also includes updated versions of the Pride watch faces. (Apple also just released two new Pride watch bands for the smartwatch as well.)

Here is the changelog for the Golden Master of watchOS 6.2,5, which will be the same for the public release.

watchOS 6.2.5 includes new features, improvements and bug fixes:

  • ECG app on Apple Watch Series 4 or later now available in Saudi Arabia
  • Irregular heart rhythm notifications now available in Saudi Arabia
