BlitzKeep provides a fresh take on some tried and true gaming mechanics. Point your hero where you want him to go and at who you want to attack, and release your finger to unleash him. He’ll keep moving until he has reached a safe zone or has died. The more enemies you kill, the stronger he will become. Pick up gear in order to take on bigger and badder foes. You’re also able to receive a power boost by bouncing off walls and tapping at just the right moment. The game includes a total of five kingdoms to explore.

  • The Thief of Wishes Is a Gorgeous Storybook App for iOS

    Reviewed by Sarah Hanlon

Once in awhile, an interactive story app comes along that adults can enjoy just as much as children.

The Thief of Wishes is an incredibly gorgeous storybook app that is a true pleasure to read for kids and adults alike.

    Concept and Functionality:

The Thief of Wishes, from Lucyna Markowska, is a story about a young girl, Catharine, and her journey to bring peace to a nightmare-infested world. What’s truly unique about this story, however, is that you can choose the outcome of it.

Every few pages you’re asked a question, and your response determines how the story progresses. This means it can be read different ways each time you revisit it.

Unlike many of the interactive story books available that are “quick reads”, The Thief of Wishes is a very lengthy book that children will thoroughly enjoy sitting down with time and time again.

The storyline doesn’t feel rushed or forced; it’s very obvious that the developers have taken their time to create a truly authentic children’s book.

When it comes to the visual aspect of The Thief of Wishes, I honestly can’t say enough great things about it. Not only is the artwork beautiful, but the animations and sound effects really contribute to the story itself.

    Features:

The Thief of Wishes iPhone App

The Thief of Wishes has a few extra features that make it more than an interactive storybook. For example, there’s a neat minigame that requires you to match flowers. You have 40 attempts to solve the puzzle, and there are quite a bit of flowers to remember.

This simple but effective logic game helps children strengthen their puzzle skills while staying within the app.

In addition to a fun game, The Thief of Wishes has two reading modes so the app can be customized based on your child’s reading level. Listening mode is great for younger children who are just starting to get the hang of reading, while self-reading mode helps build word familiarity and skills.

If you enjoy using iMessage stickers, it’s worth noting that The Thief of Wishes comes with its own sticker pack, too!

    Value:

The Thief of Wishes is available to download from the App Store for $2.99 and is universally compatible with iPhone and iPad. When it comes to overall value, I can’t say enough great things about this interactive storybook.

Not only is the story intriguing and educational, but it’s also beautiful to look at and experience. If your child is ready for a bit of advanced reading, I can’t recommend The Thief of Wishes enough!

The Thief of Wishes requires iOS 9.1 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
