Apple has released iOS 18.6.2, iPadOS 18.6.2 and macOS Sequoia 15.6.1 for the iPhone, iPad and Mac with unspecified security fixes.

iOS 18.6.1 has a build number of 22G100 and can be installed over the air by going to Settings > General > Software Update and following the onscreen instructions. Apple’s security page will soon detail any patches for vulnerabilities that are included in iOS 18.6.2, iPadOS 18.6.2 and macOS Sequoia 15.6.1.

Apple’s release notes state that iOS 18.6.2 and iPadOS 18.6.2 provide important security fixes. As such, they’re recommended for all users. “This update provides important security fixes and is recommended for all users,” reads a message in Software Update.

Apple launches iOS 18.6.2, iPadOS 18.6.2 and Sequoia‌ 15.6.1

iOS 18.6.2 and iPadOS 18.6.2 come a few days after the company pushed iOS 18.6.1 and watchOS 11.6.1 to re-enable the Blood Oxygen feature on select Apple Watch models in the United States.

Apple also released today macOS Sequoia 15.6.1 with important security updates, coming a few weeks after the launch of macOS Sequoia 15.6. To install the Sequoia‌ 15.6.1 update on your Mac, venture into System Settings > General > Software Update and follow the instructions. The update is compatible with all Mac models capable of running macOS Sequoia.

Aside from unspecified bug fixes, there don’t seem to be any new features in iOS 18.6.2, iPadOS 18.6.2 and macOS Sequoia 16.5.1. That being said, we’ll know for sure as soon as the company refreshes its pages detailing the release notes for the iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia releases.

Security fixes for older devices

Apple has also released other updates today. Owners of older Macs can install macOS 13.7.8 or macOS 14.7.8. And for older iPads that cannot be updated to ‌iPadOS 18‌, Apple has provided iPadOS 17.7.10.

iOS 18.6.2, iPadOS 18.6.2 and macOS Sequoia 15.6.1.could be the last software updates before Apple releases iOS 26, iPadOS 26 and macOS 26 to the public in September. That doesn’t mean that folks who won’t update to Apple’s latest operating systems will be left out in the cold; Apple provides maintenance updates for older operating systems with bug fixes to keep them safe from vulnerabilities, but there won’t be any new user-facing features in them.
