Apple releases iOS 13.2 with Deep Fusion and more

Following weeks of beta testing the newest software update for iOS 13, Apple has finally launched it to the public.

Apple has launched iOS 13.2 to the public, making this the second major update to the mobile operating system since iOS 13 launched in the middle of September. It’s primarily meant to fix any lingering bugs in the system, and will provide some improvements to general usability as well. However, iOS 13.2 is worthwhile in that the software also welcomes one of the most anticipated new features for the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max: Deep Fusion.

This is a camera-focused feature meant to improve photos taken in medium-to-low-light scenarios. It’s possible thanks in part to iOS 13, but mostly because of the A13 Bionic processor Apple equipped in its newest iPhones. Thanks to machine learning the feature will work in the background, working to get the best possible picture from a variety of shots and exposures.

As far as what else is new, there is quite a bit. iOS 13.2 introduces almost 60 new emojis into the software, including a range of Accessibility options, new animals like a sloth, flamingo, and others. iOS 13.2 also tweaks the process for deleting and rearranging apps on the Home screen. The new software adds the ability to change video resolution and frame rate controls while recording a video with the stock Camera app.

And finally, iOS 13.2 has also hinted at the incoming arrival of new noise-cancelling (and water-resistant) “AirPods Pro” truly wireless headphones.

As is par for the course, iOS 13.2 is a free upgrade. It’s available to download and install now.

Apple also released the corresponding iPadOS 13.2 update. It’s also free and available to install now.

In the unlikely event that Apple has added any additional features with the public launch of iOS 13.2, we will update this post accordingly.
