Milanote, Hobson, Mixtape and other apps to check out this weekend
In this week’s edition of our Apps of the Week roundup we have an innovative note-taking app, a wicked insult generator and a cross-platform playlist. And as always, we’ve selected two great new games for you to check out.
Milanote
<
I’m a big fan of innovative note-taking apps, and this one certainly fits the criteria. Milanote allows you to collect everything in one place, from notes and to-do lists, to photos and web links, and much more. It can be a private place to think for yourself, or a shared workspace for you to collaborate—it’s up to you!
Hobson
The developers of Hobson call it ‘the best insult generator in the App Store.’ Weird flex but ok. Anyway, features include millions of random, innuendo-laden phrases, the ability to share to Messages (via cards) or your favorite social network, a Today widget, a Favorites list for top insults, and support for Siri Shortcuts.
Mixtape
I’ve long thought “why doesn’t someone make a cross-platform playlist app?” Well, someone finally did and it’s called Mixtape. The app allows you and your friends to share songs from both Spotify and Apple Music to a single playlist. Just a heads up, though, some features are hidden behind a subscription plan.
Idle Color Drum
Idle Color Drum is extremely easy to play. You just need to bounce the balls and destroy the blocks. Match the color of the balls to the blocks and bounce away. Get 4 balls bouncing on one block to unleash a beat—just make sure to destroy the blocks before they disappear at the top of your screen!
Alt-Frequencies
Feel like getting weird this weekend? Ok, let’s get weird. Alt-Frequencies is an audio mystery game where you use the airwaves to open the world’s eyes to the truth—everyone is stuck in the same time loop. Record and broadcast snippets of radio shows to expose the glitch and change what happens next.
