Looks like iOS 18.3.2 broke iCloud‌ Mail push for some iPhone owners

Apple’s recent iOS 18.3.2 software update contains a bug that prevents iCloud Mail from pushing new messages to some iPhone owners.

Reddit complaints note that the issue raises its ugly head after installing iOS 18.3.2 and iPadOS 18.3.2. Manually refreshing the Mail app does retrieve new emails, but they’re not pushed to the device. Other email providers seem to work fine. For example, there are no issues with push delivery in Microsoft 365.

The issue doesn’t seem to affect Macs. It’s definitely a bug, and Apple appears to be aware of it, although it hasn’t;t yet commented on the matter. Unfortunately, there’s little clarity about why only some people are affected and others are not.

OS 18.3.2 breaks iCloud‌ Mail push for some

I haven’t noticed this problem on my devices, probably because I mainly read my email on my Mac instead of my iPhone. If you notice you have a bunch of unread emails in your Mac’s Mail app that your iPhone wasn’t showing, now you know why. Turning the device off and then back on will not do anything, nor will restarting. Only folks who upgraded to iOS 18.3.2 are reporting this behavior. It’s not a server-side problem, so a fix will probably take a few days to arrive via an iOS update.

Apple hasn’t acknowledged the problem (yet), and its System Status Page suggests all systems are fully operational. The company could issue a rapid response update to deliver a fix for this problem before including it in the main iOS update.

We certainly hope Apple will eliminate this annoying bug sooner rather than later. In the future, you can help make Apple aware of stupid bugs like this by filing a complaint at apple.com/feedback.
