Does everyone know what time it is? That’s right, it’s the weekend! That means it’s time for another Apps of the Week roundup! This week we have some…interesting picks for you, including a capybara diet pet, an app for tracking app subscriptions, and a llama-focused task manager. And as always, we’ve selected a fun a game for you to check out.

Capy Diet: Calorie Counter Pet

Meet Capy, your diet best friend—because who wouldn’t want a cute little capybara telling them they don’t need that third slice of pecan pie? Anyway, Capy does want to help you track your food intake and build a healthy relationship with food. And joking aside, behind the gimmicky gamification layer is actually a serious weight loss app. Features include personalized eating plans tailored just for you, macro tracking, BMI calculations, a vast database of nutritionist-verified food label data, and much more.

RevenueCat

Look, I am going to be honest here. I am going to keep it 100, as the kids say. When I selected RevenueCat for this week’s column, I thought it was an app for tracking subscriptions—Netflix, Hulu, Capyberas Gone Wild, you know, the normal stuff. But as it turns out, it’s actually an app that allows developers to track app subscription sales. So it’s like we’re the Netflix. Anyway, I know this makes the app significantly more niche, but at this point it’s too late to swap out the pick, and besides, the RevenueCat app/service seems to be very popular and well-regarded, so it at least has that going for it.

Llama Life ADHD Routine & Task

Wait a minute. CAPYBARA, RevenueCAT, LLAMA Life? This may be the happiest accident ever. All animal-themed apps?! Seriously, I did NOT plan this. Ok, back to Llama Life. I was absolutely shocked we hadn’t covered this app before. I mean, look at those screenshots. Look at the little llama meditating. How cute is that? The app itself is designed to help you focus on ONE thing at a time using a concept called time boxing, which is where you create a positive constraint around the time you have to do something. For example, you put in a single task you want to finish, set a countdown timer, and when you finish the task, confetti time!

Climb Knight

When it comes to retro games, sure, 8-bit is cool. But you know what is even cooler? 1 bit. That’s right, Climb Knight is a retro arcade adventure title with LCD-style, 1-bit graphics. You literally play a small ink blot trying to dodge attacks from other small ink blots with super simple, single-button controls. And oh, hey look at that, you can actually unlock additional characters—or other ink blots. Additional features include haptic feedback, global leaderboards, and chiptune music.
