iOS 18.1 lets you reset the Control Center layout to its default state

iOS 18.1 brings a new option to reset the iPhone’s Control Center to its default state, which is useful if you’d like to quickly revert all the changes you’ve made.

iOS 18.0 brought the biggest redesign to the Control Center, with the ability to move the controls around, swipe between pages and more. iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 add a new Reset Control Center toggle in Settings > Control Center to reset the Control Center layout to factory defaults in case you’ve made too many changes but couldn’t be bothered to manually revert them.

Another change is separate connectivity controls for Wi-Fi and VPN. iOS 18.0 already provided separate controls for Cellular and Bluetooth, and iOS 18.1 will bring separate controls for Wi-Fi and VPN. With this change, AirDrop and Satellite are the only controls included in the Connectivity group that remain unavailable separately.

iOS 18.1 lets you reset your Control Center

I like this. The first thing I did after installing iOS 18.1 was spend hours customizing the hell out of my Control Center. Given the amount of new controls, things quickly spiraled out of control.

It is then when I realized that the only way to return the Control Center to its default setup was to reset all settings on my iPhone. I shouldn’t have done that as I had to configure my settings and apps back to how they were.

With this new toggle, however, I can reset the Control Center layout without going through the pain of resetting all settings on my iPhone again.
