LeminLimez’ GitHub profile finally un-banned following uphill battle with customer support amid Nugget release
After a long and annoying battle with GitHub‘s customer support team, iOS developer LeminLimez’ GitHub account has finally been un-banned and un-suspended as of Friday morning. This means that everyday users who want to download and use LeminLimez’ projects from GitHub can finally do so again as of now.
According to LeminLimez, the entire issue appeared to stem from the developer’s Nugget project, which allows users to modify the behavior of their iPhone or iPad using the same SparseRestore exploit that the TrollRestore TrollStore installer uses. This effectively uses backups to modify MobileGestalt, which makes those changes possible.
Unfortunately, per an email message from GitHub customer support member Pip, the GitHub team flagged Nugget as “malicious content,” and took action against LeminLimez’ GitHub account. This meant that not only could LeminLimez not upload more content, but even loyal users couldn’t visit LeminLimez’ GitHub page to download any of the developer’s popular projects.
For the time being, LeminLimez hosted Nugget and some of their other projects via the developer’s Discord server while the communications with GitHub to reinstate the account ensued.
On Wednesday, LeminLimez made progress via the customer support channels, convincing the team to lift the account suspension. This meant that while the developer could now access and use his own repositories, his profile and repositories were still technically shadow banned to other users. That’s precisely what changed this Friday morning.
Now that LeminLimez’ GitHub profile has been reinstated in full, all users can now visit it and download any of the developer’s projects like they always could without having to join the Discord server. However, the Discord server is still highly recommended for not only support reasons, but also for joining the conversation with other like-minded individuals who love this hobby.
