Logitech’s new Combo Touch cases for the latest iPad Pro and Air are more affordable alternatives to pricey Magic Keyboards

Logitech has unveiled versions of its Combo Touch keyboard attachments for Apple’s new iPad Pro and Air models.

Logitech has launched its Combo Touch Keyboard Case for the new iPad Pro and Air. They feature a kickstand for multiple viewing angles, a large multi-touch trackpad, Smart Connector connectivity and a detachable keyboard rocking automatically backlit keys (with 16 levels of brightness) that folds for Apple Pencil use.
Thanks to Smart Connector compatibility, you can attach and detach this case magnetically, and there’s no need for Bluetooth or charging. The new keyboard covers are lighter than Apple’s Magic Keyboard. According to Logitech’s press release, the new Combo Touches are its lightest iPad keyboards to date.

Logitech’s latest Combo Touch keyboards are much wallet-friendlier alternatives to Apple’s pricey Magic Keyboard. Combo Touch for the 11-inch M4 iPad Pro is $230, a saving of $70 over the Magic Keyboard. And the 13-inch version is only $260, so you save $90 by choosing it over the 13-inch Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro.|Combo Touch for the 11-inch M2 iPad Air is $200, saving you a cool $100 over Apple’s Magic Keyboard for the new Air. Logitech’s asking price for the 13-inch Combo Touch is $230, a $120 saving over the 13-inch Magic Keyboard for iPad Air.

As you can see for yourself, the Magic Keyboard is a rather pricey accessory. Note that the Magic Keyboard for iPad Air isn’t the same product as its iPad Pro counterpart, which is the previous version.
But somehow, they cost the same even though the iPad Pro version has perks like a laptop-sized trackpad with haptic feedback, a function key row and an aluminum palm rest. In comparison, the Magic Keyboard for iPad Air has a smaller trackpad, no haptic feedback, no function key row and no aluminum palm rest.

Logitech is also lighter than Apple’s surpassingly heavy Magic Keyboard. To give you some idea, here’s how much Combo Touch for the new Air weighs:

Apple has said that the redesigned Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro is thinner and lighter than its predecessor, but hasn’t released any figures so we’ll need to wait until the new Magic Keyboard is in the hands of reviewers.
An iPad Pro + Magic Keyboard combo has traditionally put you in a laptop category weight-wise, so we’ll see how much lighter the new setup will be.

Logitech’s new iPad keyboards are a decent, feature-packed alternative to Apple’s offering that won’t burn such a deep hole in your pocket like the Magic Keyboard.
You can purchase the Combo Touch keyboard cases in both M2 iPad Air and M4 iPad Pro sizes from the Logitech website or Apple’s online store. The iPad Air version is available in Oxford Grey and the iPad Pro one comes in Graphite.
The Combo Touch for the 11-inch M2 iPad Air costs $200, with the 13-inch version priced at $230. The Combo Touch for the 11-inch M4 iPad Pro will run you $230, while the 13-inch version costs $260.
