Apple seeds second betas of iOS 13.4.5, iPadOS 13.4.5, tvOS 13.4.5, and watchOS 6.2.5 to developers
Not too long ago now, Apple launched iOS 13.4, along with updates to iPadOS, macOS, and tvOS, to the public. And now the beta seed process is back up and running for the next update to the platforms.
On Wednesday, Apple seeded the second betas of iOS 13.4.5, iPadOS 13.4.5, tvOS 13.4.5 and watchOS 6.2.5 to developers. As you can tell from the numbering here this is a minor update in the grand scheme of things, and will primarily focus on updates and improvements behind-the-scenes rather than a ton of forward-facing new features for users.
We do know that the first developer beta of iOS 13.4.5 did add a quick and easy way to share songs from Apple Music to both Instagram and Facebook Stories.
Still, the pre-release software will be available to developers (and public beta testers in the near future) until Apple releases the new software to the public at some point in the relatively near future.
iOS 13.4.5 and iPadOS 13.4.5 can be downloaded directly from the Apple Developer center for registered developers. The proper configuration profile must be installed on devices that are going to test the pre-release software. The same can be said for iPadOS 13.4.5.
Registered developers can update their Apple TV set-top box by downloading the pre-release software via a profile that’s installed using Xcode.
To update the Apple Watch to watchOS 6.2.5, registered developers must have the Apple Watch paired and within range of the iPhone, the watch’s battery must be at least 50%, and it must be connected to its charger.
As far as what’s new in the latest version of the pre-release software, that remains unknown at the time of publication. However, if there are any major discoveries found in the new releases we will update this post accordingly. While Apple did not appear to include a fix with the first developer beta, it remains possible this update will address a recently discovered bug related to Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).
