New MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, Vision Pro, M5 chip, and accessories announced today

Apple has announced the refreshed versions of MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, and Vision Pro with the new M5 chip, along with some accessories. Here’s everything you need to know.

Apple didn’t release these products at an event; it simply published Newsroom posts and put out promotional pictures and videos.

The new M5 chip

Apple announced the next generation of its in-house Apple silicon that powers all Mac models, most iPad models, and Vision Pro. The new M5 System-on-Chip (SoC) is built on third-generation 3-nanometer technology. According to Apple:

M5 delivers over 4x the peak GPU compute performance for AI compared to M4, featuring a next-generation GPU with a Neural Accelerator in each core, a more powerful CPU, a faster Neural Engine, and higher unified memory bandwidth.

New MacBook Pro with M5 chip

Apple has refreshed the 14-inch MacBook Pro lineup with the new M5 chip. But note that the 16-inch version continues to have the M4 Pro and M4 Max chips. And you can also buy the 14-inch models with M4 Pro and M4 Max chips.

Aside from the new M5 chip, there are no new differences compared to last year’s M4 MacBook Pro. The battery life, RAM, display, screen brightness, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, size, weight, camera, speakers, ports, color, price, and everything else, including the promotional wallpaper, have remained the same. However, the M5 MacBook Pro now has a new 4 TB version. The M4 MacBook Pro’s maximum storage was capped at 2 TB.

Important: No charger is provided in the box for European customers!

  • Colors: Space Black and Silver
  • Price: $1599 for the base model with 512GB storage and 16GB RAM
  • Pre-order: October 15, 2025
  • Available: October 22, 2025

New iPad Pro with M5 chip

Both the 11-inch and 13-inch versions of the iPad Pro now get the new M5 chip, which Apple claims offers up to 3.5x the AI performance of the iPad Pro with the M4 chip and up to 5.6x the speed of the iPad Pro with the M1 chip.

Along with the new processor, the iPad Pro (M5) also uses Apple’s own N1 wireless networking chip with Wi-Fi 7 support. Last year’s M4 iPad Pro had Wi-Fi 6E.

The cellular iPad Pro (M5) uses Apple’s C1X modem, the same one as the new iPhone Air.

Along with that, the new M5 iPad Pro has these improvements over the M4 iPad Pro:

  • The base 256GB and 512GB models of the M5 iPad Pro now have 12GB of RAM, up from 8GB on the M4 iPad Pro. The 1TB and 2TB versions continue to have 16GB RAM.
  • Thanks to the M5 chip, the memory bandwidth on the newer models is 153GB/s comapred to last year’s 120GB/s.
  • Both the 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro (M5) now officially support fast charging. You can get to 50% charge in 35 minutes when using Apple’s 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max ($39) or any other 60W USB-C power adapter.
  • Bluetooth 6 compared to Bluetooth 5.3 on the old model.

Aside from these, the rest of the features, colors, and price are the same as last year.

  • Colors: Space Black and Silver
  • Price: $999 (11-inch, Wi-Fi only, 256GB) | $1299 (13-inch, Wi-Fi only, 256GB)
  • Pre-order: October 15, 2025
  • Available: October 22, 2025

New Vision Pro with M5 chip

Apple has refreshed its Vision Pro headset with the new M5 chip, which is a big bump from the M2 chip in the original model.

Along with the new chip, the M5 Vision Pro comes with a new Dual Knit Band in the box for a more comfortable experience, thanks to an extra supporting band that goes over the head.

The product page also shows that these new Vision Pros now come with Apple’s new 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max.

Important: Unlike other devices, such as iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch, you can’t trade in your M2 Vision Pro to buy the new one with the M5 chip!

  • Colors: Comes in just one color (silver)
  • Price: $3499 (256GB version)
  • Pre-order: October 15, 2025
  • Available: October 22, 2025

  • Dual Knit Band: This new band comes in the box with the M5 Vision Pro, but you can buy it for $99 for your M2 Vision Pro.
