At WWDC 2025, Apple announced a flurry of software updates that will be available for all its devices this Fall, including iOS 26 for iPhones, iPadOS 26 for iPads, macOS 26 Tahoe for Macs, watchOS 25 for Apple Watches, visionOS 26 for Apple Vision Pros, and tvOS 26 for Apple TVs.

The new naming scheme ensures that all operating systems are now numbered ’26’ in an effort to keep things more organized and easier for the average consumer to keep track of. 26 was chosen, as these firmware updates will represent the 2026 year.

These firmware updates will not support all the same devices that Apple’s current firmware supports at this time, so we’ve made a quick outline to showcase what devices each software will support for our readers’ viewing pleasure.

Keep in mind that the following lists do not include any of Apple’s upcoming devices that may be announced later this year, such as the upcoming iPhones and Apple Watches that are expected to be announced in September.

Beta software already available

Apple has already made the aforementioned software updates available to developers for initial beta testing, however early reports suggest that the firmware is extremely laggy and buggy, which is to be expected this early in the development phase. The software usually becomes increasingly usable as beta testing goes on, after Apple has seeded several beta updates to developers for testing over the course of several months.

Public beta versions of the aforementioned software updates should be available to the general public within just a few weeks.

It’s worth noting that Apple has stopped supporting a lot of older devices with its upcoming firmware updates. Are all your devices supported? We’d be interested in hearing from you in the comments section down below.
