Apple trade-in is giving extra credit towards a new iPhone through June 18
Apple has temporarily raised the maximum iPhone trade-in values in some countries for a limited time, but better deals are always available elsewhere.
MacRumors spotted the change on Apple’s websites in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and China. “And now through June 18, get extra trade-in credit toward a new iPhone,” Apple clarifies.
This is Apple, so trade-in values increased only modestly; in the United States, for example, you’ll get at lest an extra $5 but no more than $30 for your old iPhone. With this change, iPhone trade-in values are now back to the levels where they were before Apple trimmed them in January 2025, albeit only temporary.
Apple boosts iPhone trade-in values
Apple isn’t the best place to trade in your old iPhone, but the company sure makes the process as convenient and painless as possible. All you need to do is visit the Apple Trade-In page or visit your nearby Apple store to find an estimated trade-in value of your iPhone after answering a few questions about its condition.
But don’t be surprised if you get a very conservative estimate. Similar to specialized trade-in service, Apple determines your trade-in value based on various factors, including the device’s condition, year and configuration.
Better deals are available via specialized trade-in services. Also, there are sites like Gazelle where you can get estimates and sell your electronics as well. And if you’re patient, putting your iPhone up for sale on Craiglist is among the best ways to convert your old iPhone into cold hard cash or exchange it for something else.
When you trade in through Apple, you will receive a credit towards a new iPhone.
