CNBC+ streaming service expands to the Apple TV and Roku

Apple HD and Apple TV 4K owners can now subscribe to the CNBC+ streaming service, which is also available on iOS, Android and on the web.
According to the announcement, this well-known American business news network also expanded to Roku devices today. CNBC+ isn’t actually a standalone app but rather an option within the existing CNBC app on the App Store, updated today.
First announced in December, CNBC+ is now available internationally. The pricing for the United States is set at $15/month or $150/year, whether subscribing through the app or on the web. The streaming service is also available on iPhone, iPad, Android phones and desktop browsers. There’s no free trial available.
CNBC+ streaming service hits Apple TV and Roku
Subscribers can stream CNBX channels live, access full episodes of popular shows on demand (with more being added regularly), catch up on all the latest market coverage for the United States, Europe and Asia, watch the new Market Data Stream to see corresponding real-time data as anchors and guests share their opinions and analyses, and more.
From the press release:
Users can get a jump on the trading day with two CNBC+ livestreams for an enhanced viewer experience. Both streams offer live global programming, including award-winning shows like Squawk Box Asia, Squawk Box Europe and Closing Bell in the US, every weekday from market open to market close around the world. Viewers who want more information on their screen can watch the market data livestream, showcasing advanced real-time data meant to complement the opinions and analysis of CNBC anchors and guests through stock charts, news headlines and more.
Be sure to have the latest version of the CNBC app: open the App Store on your Apple TV, use search to find the CNBC app and click Update on the app page. If you don’t see this option, you already have the latest version. The press release mentions that CNBC+ “will begin rolling out on Apple TV and Roku today,” suggesting this is a staggered launch that will bring CNBC+ to Apple TV and Roku owners gradually in stages.
Other plans are available. The Pro plan adds the My Portfolio feature and additional stock ratings and stock picks for $35/month or $300/year. The Investing Club tier is for those interested in stocks, Jim Cramer, watchlists and advanced charting. However, the privilege of joining the investing club will set you back $50/month or $400/year.
