Apple expected to release new Apple TV 4K this year

Apple is expected to release a new Apple TV 4K in late 2025, featuring significant upgrades over the 2022 model. Rumors suggest it will include a faster processor, likely the A17 Pro or A18 chip, enabling console-quality gaming and potential Apple Intelligence features like an enhanced Siri. The device is anticipated to support Wi-Fi 6E or 7, improving streaming and smart home connectivity, and may feature a custom Apple-designed Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts a lower price point, possibly under $100, to compete with rivals like Roku and Amazon. The launch is expected in October or November, aligning with Apple’s fall product cycle.
Ryan Christoffel for 9to5Mac:
Expect to see AI features in the new Apple TV 4K too.
What can AI do for a TV viewing experience, you ask? Amazon recently showed off its AI-powered Alexa+ assistant on Fire TV, and examples included:
• Getting personalized TV recommendations based on your current mood
• Jumping to different scenes with only a brief description
• Getting info on music after-the-fact from any part of a show or filmSiri’s big AI upgrades are reportedly launching this fall with iOS 19, in plenty of time for the new and improved assistant to offer more value on the Apple TV 4K too.
Hitting a price point of $99 or less would be a far bigger selling point than any over-promised and woefully under-delivered Apple Intelligence features.
