This über-cool kit lets you build your own macrodata refinement keyboard like the one Lumon employees use in the hit Apple TV+ show “Severance.”
The second season of “Severance” is off to a great start following an innovative marketing push; anyone obsessed with macrodata refinement can have a field day. One aspect of the show that I like many others like a lot are the retrofuturistic computers employees of Lumon Industries use for their mysterious jobs.
Thanks to a new kit from Signature Plastics, a company specializing in designing and building custom keycaps and mechanical keyboards, you can have your own microdata refinement keyboard.

Signature Plastics actually designed the iconic SA profile keycaps used on the Data General Dasher terminals from the 1970s, which inspired the prop designers of “Severance.” Their SA Macrodata Refinement kit comprises a set of keycaps that give your mechanical keyboard a similar look to the show’s computers.
“It seemed only fitting that we’d make the authentic SA profile keycaps for their workstations,” the company notes. “They understood that nothing else would capture that perfect blend of corporate authority and timeless computing aesthetic.”
The SA Macrodata Refinement kit includes a set of dark and light blue caps with beige legends which let you recreate the Lumon Industries look and feel, adding “a touch of that corporate computing aesthetic to your daily driver.”
Pricing and availability
You can pre-order your SA Macrodata Refinement kit for $197 from the Signature Plastics website, with shipments expected to commence in the first quarter of 2025. There’s also a matching deskmat, called Scary Numbers, with similar aesthetics.

The deskmat sports a pattern of numbers where “each group of numbers feels a certain way on sight, creating an unmistakable homage to the show’s most intriguing moments.” The unmistakably Lumon design captures the perfect balance “between corporate utility and underlying unease that makes the show so compelling.”
