Tapestry pulls together social feeds from Bluesky, Mastodon, RSS and more into a unified chronologically sorted timeline
Tapestry for iPhone and iPad combines social feeds from Bluesky, Mastodon, YouTube, RSS and other sources into a single unified timeline.
Today, the Iconfactory released a new app called Tapestry, a gateway to the open social web of sorts. What if there was a single app that brought together almost everything happening across Bluesky, Mastodon, YouTube, and other social media services in a single chronological timeline? Tapestry does that for you.
Yes, Tapestry serves feeds chronologically instead of having an algorithm decide what you should see! I prefer to browse social updates in the order they’re posted; if you’re like me, you’re going to love Tapstery.

Following its Kickstarter campaign which kicked off in April 2024, Tapestry is now ready for prime time. The app has been crafted by The Inconfactory, a legendary team that designs apps, commercial icons and user interfaces. For example, the same team is behind the beloved Twitter client Twitterrific which no longer exists.
It can be difficult to keep tabs on multiple social networks, especially if you’re a beginner who doesn’t understand the different protocols these networks utilize. With Tapestry, you can keep track of your feeds from Bluesky, Mastodon, Tumblr, YouTube, RSS, podcasts and other sources in a combined chronological timeline.
Tapestry also lets you quickly open any post in your favorite third-party app and mark items to read later. However, the app doesn’t support cross-posting to multiple networks or any kind of posting for that matter. I like Tapestry’s rich customization options; you can change its icon, layout, and fonts, create custom timelines, and decide which social networks to include.
Unlike many Bluesky clients, Tapestry saves and syncs your timeline position so you can continue where you left off at any time on any device. According to the App Store description, Tapestry supports browsing content “from dozens or even hundreds of sources. ”
Rich customization and connectors
The app supports rules to exclude anything you don’t want to see in the timeline, such as spoilers, via muting and muffling filters. You can simultaneously search topics and terms across all feeds and bookmark your favorite posts. “Tapestry works with content stored on your device, so searching and viewing content is completely private,” it reads.
But Tapestry wants to be more than an app that unifies various feeds into a single timeline. The Iconfactory says Tapestry supports plugins called connectors, which are text files that describe feeds and provide instructions on loading them. Other developers can write custom connectors for Tapestry to add data from a specific source to your timeline.
The announcement on the Iconfactory blog reveals additional features will be available in future updates to the app, such as a native macOS version, content overviews, and a better experience when viewing and creating replies. Many of Tapestry’s features were previously found in Twitterrific, so it seems like the team has reused some of Twitterriffic’s underlying technologies to build Tapestry. And why not? If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it!
Pricing and availability
Tapestry for iPhone and iPad is free on the App Store, with $2/month, $20/year and $ 80/lifetime subscriptions available to remove ads and unlock advanced features like muting, custom timelines theme customization, etc. Tapestry requires iOS and iPadOS 17.4 or later. The app is unavailable on Windows and Android.

If you’re interested in quality software, The Iconfactory has several apps worth your time, like Linea, a minimal drawing app with Apple Pencil support and more.
Tapestry isn’t the first network app that wants to unify the open social web. TechCrunch recently wrote about Openvibe, a new app for multiple social networks backed by WordPress maker Automattic and others.
