Apple has begun offering good-as-new M4 iMac all-in-one computers via its refurbished online store in the United States and other countries.

MacRumors reports that the refurbished M4 iMac has landed on Apple’s virtual store shelves in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, and other countries. This is the first time the company has offered refurbished iMacs with M4 chips since their release in October 2024. All base iMacs have 16GB of RAM instead of 8 to better support Apple Intelligence. iMac configurations equipped with a nano-texture display upgrade which reduces glare are offered, too.

While you can get better discounts for used Apple hardware elsewhere, like eBay and Amazon, which often offer better deals on brand-new machines, Apple-certified refurbished devices offer a few perks you should know about.

Apple starts offering refurbished M4 iMacs

Like other refurbished devices that Apple offers, refurbished M4 iMacs are available with up to a fifteen percent discount compared to brand-new machines. For example, a base M4 iMac can be had in exchange for $1100 via the refurbished online store versus the $1300 for a brand-new iMac, saving you $200.

You can save more money by opting for higher-priced iMac configurations. For example, a new $1500 model is available for $1270 in the refurbished store, saving you $230. A brand new $1700 M4 iMac is available refurbished for $1440, saving you $260. Finally, a brand new flagship $1900 configuration is discounted to $1610 in the refurbished store, saving you $290.

The company recently added the latest M4 Mac minis to its refurbished store while revising the pricing of refurbished M2 Mac minis, making them more affordable than ever at just $319 for the base configuration with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

The benefits of refurbished Macs

Refurbished Apple products are little-used devices that customers returned within the return window or that served as display units in Apple’s retail stores.

All refurbished Macs sold on the online Apple store were factory-refurbished to make them indistinguishable from brand-new machines and have undergone full functional testing by Apple. If a component is faulty, Apple replaces it with a genuine part—another benefit of Apple-certified products.

Apple also thoroughly cleans these devices before shipping them to customers. Instead of original packaging, refurbished Apple products come in a plain white box. That shouldn’t be a problem because Apple includes all the usual accessories in the box. For example, all refurbished iMacs ship with a magnetic power cord, a USB-C charge cable, a power adapter, a Magic Mouse and a Magic Keyboard in the box.

For your peace of mind, all refurbished Macs are covered by a new 1-year limited warranty from Apple and are eligible for accidental damage protection with extended AppleCare+ coverage. Apple ships refurbished products to customers with free delivery and returns.
