Apple now offering up to $50 more for your older Mac trade-in through April 2nd
Apple occasionally adjusts the amount of money that the company will pay for used equipment when trading it in for newer gear, and it seems that price adjustments have just happened yet again – namely for certain Mac computers…
As first pointed out by MacRumors, pretty much every Mac model that Apple accepts for trade-in has received an estimated $10-50 increase. We’ve outlined both what Apple previously offered, as well as what they are now offering, below:
- MacBook Pro: Now up to $925, previously up to $915
- MacBook Air: Now up to $435, previously up to $425
- MacBook: Now up to $140, previously up to $90
- iMac: Now up to $315, previously up to $305
- iMac Pro: Now up to $455, previously up to $405
- Mac mini: Now up to $375, previously up to $365
- Mac Studio: Now up to $1,150, previously up to $1,140
- Mac Pro: Now up to $720, previously up to $670
With the latest enhancements to Apple’s trade-in program, it now looks like a better time than ever for certain Mac owners to consider upgrading to a newer computer. The biggest benefactors with respect to the new trade-in values appear to be the MacBook, iMac Pro, and Mac Pro, which are now worth up to $50 more than before, while other models like the MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, Mac mini, and Mac Studio bring in $10 more.
The enhanced trade-in values are valid through April 2nd, according to Apple’s trade-in web page, after which the company will re-evaluate what it will pay for these devices.
These prices are, of course, just estimates. The age, condition of the device, its its working order, and included OEM accessories also impact the price that Apple pays out for trade-ins. Devices that don’t meet the trade-in criteria can only be recycled for free through Apple’s trade-in program, however that doesn’t mean that those device owners can’t make money selling their device elsewhere.
