WhatsApp joins Meta’s Accounts Center; you can now cross-post on Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp

Meta’s single sign-on feature now supports WhatsApp login as the messaging app joins Facebook, Instagram and Quest on the Accounts Center.

Accounts Center lets you manage multiple logins for your Instagram, Facebook and Quest accounts in one place, so you can update your contact information, upload a new profile picture and more across multiple Meta services simultaneously.

Adding WhatsApp to your Accounts Center will enable you to use Meta’s single sign-on feature to log back into your WhatsApp account and publish the same statuses and posts across WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook simultaneously.

You’ll need the latest WhatsApp version for this feature. If you already have WhatsApp on your iPhone, you can manually download the update by opening WhatsApp’s App Store page and clicking the Update button. WhatsApp was recently refreshed with new features, like AR camera effects, quicker reactions and more.

WhatsApp joins Meta’s Accounts Center

According to the announcement published in the Meta Newsroom on January 21, 2025, adding WhatsApp to the Accounts Center won’t break Meta’s end-to-end encryption. This feature is completely optional and turned off by default.

However, not all people will see the new option due to a staggered rollout. “Today we’re excited to announce that we’ll be rolling out a new option to add WhatsApp to Accounts Center over the next few months,” Meta notes.

When you do get the feature, you’ll see the option in a new Accounts Center section of your WhatsApp settings to add the app. The same option will appear when you take action across accounts, like re-sharing your status. For further information, read Meta’s support pages here, here and here.

I’ve been using the Accounts Center since its debut in 2020 because I grew tired of juggling multiple accounts, and the feature has worked well for me. I like the ability to crosspost between Instagram and Facebook, which saves time. Now, it’s finally possible to reshare updates from my WhatsApp status to my Facebook or Instagram Stories without having to post multiple times.

“Over time we’ll keep adding more features that work across our apps for people who want them, like the ability to manage your avatars, Meta AI stickers and your Imagine Me creations all in one place,” the company noted.
