Ugreen’s 500W Nexode charger handles 5 laptops at once, including your e-bike
Unveiled at CES 2025, Ugreen’s latest Nexode multi-device charger pushes 500W of power, making it the world’s first 500W GaN desktop charger.
This is a new version of Ugreen’s 300W desktop charger we reviewed, bringing the latest GaN chips and having its power output boosted to a whopping 500W.
If you own several high-powered devices, like a MacBook Pro laptop at home and a Dell XPS for work, plus an iPod Pro or similar, the new Nexode 500W Desktop Fast Charger will fast-charge them all at once. Even better, it’s powerful enough to charge large, power-hungry devices like e-bikes!
The first USB-C port is capable of pushing an incredible 240W of power and a maximum of 48V charging, with the remaining ones rated air 100W each. All in all, you get five USB-C ports and one legacy USB-A port for a total of six ports. The USB-A port pushes out 22.5W of power for things like AirPods, smartwatches, etc.

Thanks to the rubberized feet and rubber lifts, this thing won’t slide around your desk. The components are encased in a stylish gray chassis, with the build quality we’ve come to expcet from all Ugreen accessories. Like its 300W counerpart, the new Nexode can be used horizontally or vertically.
The accessory uses GaN technology, referring to Gallium Nitride, a transparent crystalline material capable of higher voltages with less energy wasted than multiple silicon parts in traditional chargers. GaN dissipates much less heat in everyday usage, making it more reliable and power efficient.
Plus, they’re much smaller than their silicon-based counterparts. The new 500W Nexode measures 5.75 inches wide (14.6cm), 4.51 inches tall (11.46cm), and 2.39 inches deep (6.06cm), weighing 63.49 ounces or 1.8 kilograms.
Power sharing across ports
All multi-port chargers share power across ports, and the new Nexode is no exception. Each new plugged device causes the charger to redistribute power output across the ports. The power ratios vary depending on which ports are being used and the number of them. For example, with the 240W port utilized, the other source USB-C ports will share the remaining 260W of power.
Ugreen has shared handy charts with all the possible power-sharing combinations. Generally speaking, the first USB-C port offers the fastest charging (240W), with the last one having the slowest charging speed.
The accessory uses the USB Power Delivery 3.1 protocol to negotiate power requirements with devices and for safety features like overheating, overcharging, and short circuit protection. Other supported fast charging protocols include Qualcomm QuickCharge C3.0, SCP, FCA and AFC.
The charger uses six GaN chips and Ugreen’s dynamic temperature sensors that monitor the temperature 100 times per second and adjust power output when the charger starts to warm to keep the temperature in check.
Pricing and availability
Ugreen will soon open pre-orders for the new Nexode 500W Desktop Fast Charger on its website and the Amazon store, with shipments starting in March 2025.
Founded in 2012 and based in Shenzhen, China, Ugreen has made a name for itself with premium chargers, power adapters, cables and more. In 2024, the company launched its initial public offering and trades on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
