However, the wait for the new Satechi multi-device folding chargers and magnetic power banks isn’t over; Satechi says these accessories will be available in Spring 2025, priced between $70 and $100.

You can sign up for an email alert on the Satechi website to be notified when the new OntheGo Power Banks and Wireless Chargers (all compatible with Qi, Qi2, and MagSafe) are available for purchase. The company also unveiled other new accessories at CES, including an updated Stand&Hub for the redesigned Mac mini.

The wireless chargers come in 2-in-1 and 3-in-1 versions. When not in use, they fold to a much smaller footprint, similar to Satechi’s 3-in-1 foldable charging stand.
The 2-in-1 sports a Qi2 charging pad rated at 15W and another one at 5 watts for charging low-power devices such as AirPods. The 3-in-1 also has an integrated Apple Watch charger, which supports the fast charging feature on Series 7 and Ultra or later models and the Nightstand feature in watchOS. Charging your iPhone wirelessly in landscape orientation on a magnetic charger lets you use StandBy, one of my favorite iPhone features.

The new power banks are available in 5,000 mAh and 10,000 maH versions. They feature a USB-C port for wired charging and a Qi2/MagSafe wireless charging pad (15W) similar to Anker’s MagGo chargers. You can use both wired and wireless features to charge two devices simultaneously.

The stand can be adjusted up to 120 degrees. However, if your Android phone doesn’t have Qi2, you can charge it wirelessly on this thing using a compatible magnetic case or sticker.

Does your iPhone support Qi, Qi2 or MagSafe?

MagSafe is Apple’s wireless charging feature that uses magnets to automatically align devices, whereas Qi is a wireless charging standard predominantly used on Android and other devices.

Standard Qi chargers draw between 5W and 15W of power. For safety reasons, iOS limits the Qi charging speed to 7.5W. With Qi2, however, iPhones can charge at up to 15W, matching MagSafe’s charging speed.

Apple has actually contributed the MagSafe specification to the Qi2 standard, including magnetic alignment. While Qi2 is now Android’s MagSafe, there haven’t been many Qi2-compatible Android phones so far. All iPhones from the iPhone 12 family onward support Qi, Qi2 and MagSafe.
