Nvidia’s GeForce Now cloud gaming coming to Apple Vision Pro
Nvidia will bring its GeForce Now cloud gaming service to Apple’s Vision Pro headset using the Safari browser, providing access to over 2,100 titles.
Nvidia has collaborated with Apple to enable support for GeForce Now in the visionOS version of Safari. The graphics giant made the announcement at CES 2025 today, saying Vision Pro owners will be able to play premium releases, ncluding the upcoming AAA titles such as Avowed and DOOM: The Dark Ages.
Nvidia will also bring GeForce Now to mixed-reality headsets like Meta’s Quest 3 and Pico devices. The company says games delivered via the cloud use modern technologies such as ray tracing and DLSS. Cloud gaming offloads all processing to an array of GPUs on Nvidia’s servers, with your device only receiving a video stream and sending controller input to the cloud.
Nvidia bringing GeForce Now to Apple Vision Pro via Safari
Nvidia also said that playing cloud games on Vision Pro via Safari won’t require the installation of a titles’ Progressive Web App (PWA) version. This has been one of the significant obstacles to a broader acceptance of GeForce Now on iPhones and iPads.
According to Nvidia, this feature should be available later in January via the upcoming GeForce Now v2.0.70 update. Once available, you’ll use Safari on your Vision Pro to access the GeForce Now website at play.geforcenow.com.
Of course, it’s recommended that you pair a Bluetooth controller with your Vision Pro. According to Mark Gurman at Bloomberg, Apple may also bring support for PlayStation VR2 hand controllers to Vision Pro.
