Nomad’s latest cable offerings include both standard USB-C to USB-C cables and Universal cables, the latter of which can quickly adapt to any USB-A, USB-C, or microUSB port on the fly.

Nomad USB-C vs Universal Cable tips.

Ensuring optimal compatibility with any lifestyle, Nomad offers these cables in lengths of 0.3m, 1.5m, and 3m, all while ensuring poetic durability with their Kevlar (K29)-reinforced nylon outer weave, electroplated metal connectors, and a convenient integrated vulcanized rubber silicone cable tie.

Below the Kevlar-reinforced nylon outer weave, Nomad’s new cables also feature a thick moisture barrier to resist corrosion, and an RF shield to ensure reliable data transfer over USB 2.0.

What sets these cables apart from Nomad’s previous offerings is that they support a staggering 240W power delivery over USB-C, while previous-generation cables capped out at 100W. That means these cables are ready for high-demand work, such as charging Apple’s maxed out 16-inch MacBook Pro at full speed (it ships with a 140W power adapter).

Nomad cable Universal tip.

If you haven’t already noticed, these cables are optimized for fast charging more so than data transfer. With 240W power delivery support, you can charge just about anything with a USB-C port. But if it’s speed you’re after, then you’d be better off with a USB4 or Thunderbolt cable.

For those instances where you need a cable that can do it all, the Universal option can adapt to almost any type of USB port you can imagine with quick-snap adapter tips. These tips will not support 240W, as that charge speed is reserved for USB-C.
