Peak Design Carryology collaboration results in enhanced camera straps, body mount, and mobile tripod
Folks who know Peak Design also know that the brand makes wonderfully high-quality photography gear, ranging from camera bags to camera straps, and everything in between. Occasionally, Peak Design even collaborates with other brands, and that’s precisely what we’re here to talk about.

A new collaboration between Peak Design and EDC (everyday carry) brand Carryology resulted in a fresh batch of new products dropping on Peak Design’s website.
The new Peak Design x Carryology Essentials Collection features some of Peak Design’s signature products receiving new colors and textures that speak to Carryology’s branding and design language. But don’t be fooled — these products offer more than just spiffy new looks. Carryology says these products have been upgraded in ways that will matter to end users.
Among some of the new items that are currently available through this collaboration are the following:
- Slide Camera Strap CE Edition – $79.95
- Slide Lite Camera Strap CE Edition – $69.95
- Leash Camera Strap CE Edition – $54.95
- Cuff Camera Strap CE Edition – $39.95
- Capture Clip CE Edition – $84.95
- Mobile Tripod CE Edition – $89.95
According to Carryology’s blog post, the upgraded camera straps offer enhanced slash resistance to prevent fraying and tearing under harsh use. This was achieved with UHMWPE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyurethane), which is one of the strongest fibers.
While Peak Design already uses UHMWPE in its strap anchors, Carryology is adding this same material to the rest of the strap. This gives it a unique charcoal appearance that resists the elements very well. The accented anodized aluminum is only ice icing on the cake.
The Capture Clip and the Mobile Tripod are still mostly the same as the originals, except that they’re laser-etched with unique patterns and that they incorporate orange components that pop to the eyes.
Anyone who isn’t familiar with Peak Design’s camera straps should know they’re second to none in quality and durability. I’ve never known anyone to break one before, and with these being even tougher, that’s extra insurance if you use large and expensive cameras on your shoots. The Capture doubles your stability by allowing you to anchor your camera body with attached lens to yourself when not in use, preventing drops.
It seems like Peak Design has hit it out of the park again with this collaboration, and we can’t wait to see what they’ll be doing next. Are you planning to order any of these items? Let us know why or why not in the comments section down below.
