WaterField laucnhes a new Shinjuku Sling tech case to keep your iPhone 16 safe
With the iPhone 16 official, WaterField Designs has launched a new Shinjuku Sling case to carry your new Apple smartphone and other everyday items in style.
The Shinjuku Sling for iPhone 16 is a mini crossbody that looks great whether you carry it over or under your jacket. “An innovative quick-release strap buckle allows users to put on or remove the sling bag without lifting it overhead, thread items like a hat or larger water bottle through the strap, or attach it to a stationary object when seated to outsmart potential thieves,” WaterField notes in the announcement.
The case is made from water-resistant materials and is equipped with a YKK waterproof zipper, with dual zipper pulls ensuring access from either side. The adjustable strap lets you hook sling onto a chair as a theft deterrent. Or, thread it through a water bottle or cap to add storage capability.
The Shinjuku Sling for iPhone key features:
- Durable materials: The case is made from the ultralight X11 X-Pac canvas, which is water resistant and withstands abrasion. Or, opt for a more traditional version using rugged waxed canvas. Each is paired with full-grain leather.
- Roomy main compartment: On the inside, the compact main compartment fits an iPhone 16 along with your AirPods, wallet, smaller items like keys and a sunglasses case or certain water bottles (8 – 16 oz).
- Shielded interior pocket: The interior pocket features protective foam on one side that keeps your iPhone 16 shielded from other items, like keys.
- Interior pockets: You also have a pair of interior pockets that stretch to accommodate your AirPods and other small items.
- Front pocket: On the outside, there’s a zippered pocket dedicated to storing your quick-access items like a metro card, reading glasses, etc.

There’s the X-PAC canvas, very lightweight yet very strong technical fabric available in Black, Storm Gray and Olive Green finishes. The traditional waxed canvas is available in Brown and Navy Blue. Both versions have full-grain leather accents, YKK waterproof zippers and custom metal zipper pulls.
