Premium accessory maker Satechi has upgraded its three USB-C hubs with faster I/O, 100W charging, and other perks without jacking up prices.

The company announced the upgraded 4-in-1, 6-in-1 and 7-in-1 adapters at the IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin, Germany. Compared to the current ones, the upgraded adapters bring faster USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds up to 10Gbps, which works out to approximately 125 megabytes per second (or about eight seconds to transfer a 1GB file). Power output to the host device is now 100W instead of the 60W limit of each former version, which is enough to power your MacBook Pro.

Other improvements include a reinforced neck and a tangle-free braided cable for better durability, a more compact USB-C connector to fit devices in protective cases, and chamfered edges for that Apple-like sheen. The new hubs will be available to order from September 26 via the Satechi web store.

The company also announced a brand-new product at the IFA 2024, an inconspicuous passport holder that provides built-in tracking via Apple’s Find My app, protection against RFID skimming, and wireless charging for its built-in battery.

Meet Satechi’s upgraded 4-in-1, 6-in-1 and 7-in-1 hubs

The new 4-in-1 Slim Multi-Port Adapter 4K has one HDMI port capable of outputting video in 4K resolution at 60Hz and 100W USB-C Power Delivery (PD) charging), along with a pair of USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports.

Then there’s the 6-in-1 USB-C Slim Multi-Port Adapter, which has the same HDMI output and 100W USB-C PD charging like the 4-in-1 but one USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 port, one legacy USB-A 2.0 port and a memory card reader (microSD/SD card).

And finally, the new 7-in-1 USB-C Slim Multi-Port Adapter with Ethernet is equipped with a Gigabit Ethernet port, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, and a micro/SD card slot (and of course, HDMI in 4K resolution at 60Hz and 100W USB-C PD charging).

Everyone should have a multi-port adapter, whether you’re a content creator or an average user. Multi-port adapters save you the money you’d burn on multiple charges, adapters, interfaces, and cables. Plus, they help tidy up your workspace. Suddenly, your computer gets all those additional ports and power via just one USB-C cable, which is incredibly convenient.

Thanks to the ubiquitous USB-C standard, these hubs don’t require special drives. You can use them with a wide range of devices equipped with the USB-C interface, including Macs, Windows PCs, iPads, iPhones, Chromebooks, Android, etc.

The 4-in-1 Slim Multi-Port Adapter 4K will replace the current USB-C Slim Multi-Port with Ethernet Adapter. The 6-in-1 USB-C Slim Multi-Port Adapter will take place in the lineup currently occupied by Satechi’s Slim Aluminum Type-C Multi-Port Adapter V2. And finally, the new 7-in-1 USB-C Slim Multi-Port Adapter with Ethernet will replace the existing Type-C Slim Multi-Port Adapter 4K.

Pricing and availability

The new adapters are available in the Space Gray, Silver and Black finishes to complement your Apple world. They’re priced at the same $60, $70 and $80—like their predecessors, which will be pulled from sale when the new adapters drop.

You can order the new 4-in-1, 6-in-1 and 7-in-1 dapters via the Satechi web store from September 26 and later via Satechi’s Amazon store.
