Topaz Photo AI v3.2.0 greatly improves sharpen models, improves performance and RAW support
Apart from exposure-changing and color-grading software like Adobe Lightroom, Topaz Photo AI is perhaps one of my most-used tools when editing RAW photographs fresh off the camera sensor. Its powerful AI-based photo enhancement features can help polish even some of the slightest photographer mistakes, making a ‘halfway there’ photograph look more like a completed masterpiece.
Just this week, Topaz Photo AI received an important update to version 3.2.0, in which it picked up quite a lot of improvements for photo editors looking to improve their finalized product. Citing a blog post by the Topaz Labs team, Topaz Photo AI v3.2.0 introduces the following changes:
– Three new Sharpen models: Lens Blur v2, Natural, and Refocus
– Personalized model and strength settings
– Presets in suggestions
– Auto-selection added to the controls tab
– Improved color accuracy for Canon RAW files
– Performance improvements for preview behavior
– Allow the Capture One plugin to save a DNG
Perhaps the biggest change in this update is that there are three new sharpen models, including Lens Blur v2 which features an updated architecture for image sharpening and fixes even some of the strongest camera lens blurs in a seemingly effortless fashion with uniform results across the entire image.
There’s also a new Natural sharpen model that improves images with fine details, such as a tiger’s whiskers. Lastly, there’s a new Refocus sharpen model that can fix even some of the worst missed focus images. An improved autopilot can even automatically de-noise and sharpen your images for you.
Apart from the new image sharpen models, we’re getting more model and strength setting to fine-tune what looks best with a live preview. And speaking of the live preview, its performance has been vastly improved as has the color accuracy with RAW files that come right off your camera’s sensor.
Topaz Photo AI has been an amazing asset for me, not only for my personal photos, but for my professional projects as well. These upgrades continue to push the boundary for what’s possible with AI technology, and it’s a truly jaw-dropping result as to what you can accomplish with just the click of a button, saving more of your time so you can spend it on what matters.
