Peak Design launches Coyote color for Everyday Travel bags with exclusive X-PAC Ocean Edition weather-resistant material
Back in April, Peak Design announced a new Coyote tan colorway for many of the brand’s popular camera straps. Given the positive response to the new color, Peak Design has now decided to double down on the new colorway, applying it to more products.

According to Peak Design, many of the company’s fan-favorite bags are now available in the Coyote tan colorway, including Everyday bags, Travel bags, and even some of the brand’s smaller packing tools.
But this is so much more than just a new color; it’s also a new material that features X-PAC VX-21 Ocean Edition – a durable, all-weather material that’s made in America and derived entirely from recycled fishing nets.
X-PAC VX-21 Ocean Edition was originally developed to be used as sailcloth and was later adapted to suit consumer market goods such as these. Its multi-layer laminated construction makes it durable enough to withstand the elements, and in fact, a DWR treatment makes it hydrophobic, so it repels water to keep contents dry.
Because Peak Design has always been a sustainability-first company, partnering with X-PAC to make use of this material made from recycled goods is a particularly exciting step. Peak Design says that the new material will extend the life of its bag offerings, which is awesome for consumers as well.

Anyone who’s trying to get away from the black and gray colors that are usually offered for backpacks and bags might want to check out one of these Coyote options from Peak Design. I’ve been hands-on with their Everyday backpacks a multitude of times, and I believe they’re one of the best options for hauling camera gear around. The origami dividers inside make them highly adaptable and ideal for so much more, however.
Peak Design has exclusive rights to X-PAC VX-21 Ocean Edition material in Coyote tan through 2025, so no other brand or manufacturer will be able to access it. Peak Design typically uses standard 400D or 600D Nylon in its bags, and X-PAC VX-21 Ocean Edition is expected to be more durable. For this reason, there it’s slightly more expensive than the standard material.
