iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia add yet another way and allow you to convert currency, temperature, and more right from the stock Calculator app.
So if you need to change Feet to Meters, USD to British Pounds, Ounce to kilogram, Acre to Hectare, KB to GB, Calorie to Joule, and more, the updated Calculator app has you covered.

Supported conversion types
You can use Apple’s Calculator app to convert the following:
- Angle
- Area
- Currency
- Data
- Energy
- Force
- Fuel
- Length
- Power
- Pressure

Out of all the above options, only currency conversion is variable in nature. Apple’s Calculator app fetches the latest currency exchange rates from the Internet, courtesy of Yahoo Finance. Use the Apple Calculator app as a unit converter
1) Open the Calculator app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
2) Tap the button in the lower left corner that has a calculator icon and turn on Convert.
3) The Calculator app will now change into a conversion calculator. Tap the current unit selector and pick a category, such as Angle, Currency, Temperature, etc.
4) After selecting the category, choose a unit. You can also use the search bar to find one quickly. For instance, if you selected Temperature, now select Celsius, Fahrenheit, or Kelvin. I’m selecting Celsius (°C).
5) Tap the second unit selector (°F) and pick another unit (like Kelvin) if needed.
6) Finally, enter the values, and you will see the conversion results in real-time.
Remember that you can tap the two-arrow icon to move the selected value (shown in white) up or down.
You can also tap the current value in either unit to make it active for input (shown in white) and then enter a desired value.
If you need to copy the converted results, tap the number to show the thin menu strip and select Copy.
Once you are done with your conversion, tap the calculator icon in the lower left corner and turn off the Convert button to return to your regular calculator.
