Alleged iPhone 17 display sizes and prices leak, including a rumored Slim model

Apple should release four new iPhone 17 models next year featuring larger screen sizes, including a new ultra-thin model dubbed iPhone 17 Slim with a high price.

The iPhone 17 Slim should feature a 6.65-inch display and become the new flagship model in the 2025 lineup. The Slim should start at $1300, which compares to the $1200 iPhone 15 Pro Max, making it the most expensive iPhone.

All iPhone 17 models should have ProMotion displays

Other models allegedly include the standard iPhone 17 with a 6.27-inch display, the iPhone 17 Pro with a 6.27-inch display and the iPhone 17 Pro Max with a 6.86-inch display (this year’s iPhone 16 lineup should bring 6.3 and 6.9–inch devices).

All four models should utilize low-temperature polycrystalline oxide technology, or LTPO, implying that every 2024 iPhone will support ProMotion technology.

ProMotion brings dynamic refresh rates from as low as 10Hz to up to 120Hz. This tech is available on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro models, so it looks like the iPhone 17 lineup will finally bring it to all models in the lineup.

Alleged iPhone 17 screen sizes and prices

The following information was provided by the Ice Universe account on Weibo:

  • iPhone 17: 6.27-inch LTPO display ($799)
  • iPhone 17 Pro: 6.27-inch LTPO display ($1,099)
  • iPhone 17 Pro Max: 6.86-inch LTPO display ($1,199)
  • iPhone 17 “Slim”: 6.65-inch LTPO display ($1,299)

The leaker claims the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will use an upcoming A19 Pro chip fabricated with TSMC’s N3P process and equipped with 12GB of unified memory. The non-Pro models should use a standard A19 chip.

“This contrasts with the iPhone 16 lineup, which is expected to feature the same A18 chip across the board,” MacRumors notes. Both iPhone 17 Pros should bring a 48-megapixel sensor to all three rear cameras as previously rumored.

The rumored iPhone Slim features

As for the rumored iPhone 17 Slim, the leaker suggests the hardware specifications include a regular A19 chip with 8GB of RAM and an aluminum housing.

“It is possible that this information has simply been assumed based on its replacement of the Plus model and it seems potentially strange for the new high-end model to have inferior specifications to the Pro models,” MacRumors explains.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said the M4 iPad Pro, the thinnest Apple device to date with a thickness of just 5.1 millimeters, was just the beginning as Apple aims to develop the thinnest phones, watches and laptops in the industry.

He thinks an ultra-thin iPhone, codenamed D23 internally, is coming in 2025. Thanks to a “major redesign,” such a device should be “significantly thinner,” he speculated.
