Rumor: The next iPhone SE will start at the same $429 price as the current model
Despite the rumored OLED panel and other upgrades, Apple could price the iPhone SE 4 at $429 or slightly higher, keeping it as the budget option in the lineup.
Low price is among the reasons the iPhone SE is a popular choice. It’s the most affordable iPhone the money can buy, even though its price has fluctuated.
The X account Revegnus claims the fourth-generation iPhone SE will start at $429 in the United States, matching the starting price of the current iPhone SE 3.
Should there be a price increase to account for the hardware upgrades, the iPhone SE 4 could see its price go up by approximately ten percent, Revegnus claims. Even if that happens, expect “the maximum target to stay within $499.”

If you were among the early adopters who bought the original iPhone when it came out in 2017, you paid $499 for it, more than for an iPhone SE. And if Revegnus is correct, Apple intends to keep a sub-$500 iPhone in the mix.
It would be great if the next iPhone SE will manage to match the current model’s price, but we don’t think that’s possible given that Apple (and other tech companies) has already increased some of its prices to account for inflation.
“In regions outside the US, even if the dollar price remains nearly the same, the actual price will increase by around 15 percent,” Revegnus wrote.
The rumored improvements
Internally codenamed Ghost, the fourth-generation iPhone SE is rumored to ditch the outdated Home button appearance and finally adopt a modern fullscreen appearance with Face ID, with a design similar to the standard iPhone 14.
The new design should let Apple’s engineers shrink the bezels and swap the iPhone SE 3’s 4.7-inch LCD screen for a notched 6.12-inch OLED one.
There should also be a USB-C port and an Action button. The iPhone SE 4 is expected to launch sometime in 2025.
