Kick off the cycling season with WaterField Design’s new magnetic iPhone pouch and a refreshed leather cycling tote

San Francisco-based WaterField Designs debuted a new magnetic iPhone cycling case and refreshed its dedicated cycling tote with new materials and features.

The new X-Pac Magnetic Cycling iPhone Case is $69 and the Deluxe Edition Leather Cycling Tote is $219. Both are available to order from the WaterField website.
The magnetic case is your cycling wallet allowing you to check the route on your phone while holding tools for making quick mechanical tweaks and fixes. The case fits into your jersey pocket and is easy to open while wearing cycling gloves.
The Deluxe Edition of WaterField’s existing Leather Cycling Tote brings additional pockets and two full-grain leather panels which develop “an exquisite patina reminiscent of vintage leather cycling accessories.” Use it to store everything you need for your next ride with you, including the iPhone cycling case.
WaterField debuts the new Magnetic Cycling iPhone Case
The cycling case is made from X-Pac, a fabric brand of the American advanced sailcloth manufacturer Dimension-Polyant. Instead of being a single woven fabric, X-Pac is a laminated textile that repels sweat and rain and is resistant to abrasion.
A “magnetic zipper” closure made of a string of rare-earth micromagnets is easy to open and close while wearing long-fingered cycling gloves by pinching and pulling the sides apart. It closes on its own with a satisfying snap. A pair of side pockets can hold ten credit cards and some cash, along with a cycling multitool, car keys and a cleaning cloth for eyeglasses or your iPhone.
The main compartment is made from soft padding to protect the iPhone’s display.
A handy top loop lets you grab the case with one finger whenever needed.
Features unique to the Deluxe Edition cycling tote
The Deluxe Edition Leather Cycling Tote features full-grain leather panels on the front and rear which “develop a gorgeous patina reminiscent of cycling’s vintage accessories and help the bag stand upright,” reads WaterField’s press release.
The front panel features three internal pockets for flexibility.
The rear panel is a large open-topped pocket for quick access to things like gloves.
The Leather Cycling Tote is large enough to hold all the tools and necessities you’ll need for long rides. All versions feature tall internal compartments to keep your shoes, water bottle, helmet, food and clothes separate from one another.
You also get a pair of side pockets. Use them to stowe your sunglasses and snacks for the road on one side, with your cycling case on the other.
The top handles are long to easily fit the tote over your shoulder when you’re riding back to your car carrying your entire gear in the bag.
X-Pac Magnetic Cycling Case: Pricing and availability
The new X-Pac Magnetic Cycling Case comes in five distinct color finishes: Black, Deep Blue, Olive Green, Mocha and Slate. It’s available in small and large sizes.
The small version fits iPhone Pros and the large one is designed for iPhone Pro Max models and other smartphones of similar sizes. Both are priced at $69. You can optionally order a multitool for an extra $13. The case is scheduled to ship on May 8.
Deluxe Edition Leathre Cyclign Tote: Pricing and availability
