If you’re experiencing issues with your AirPods Max, you can perform a quick reboot by pressing and golding the noise control button and the Digital Crown.
- Be sure to charge your AirPods Max for a few minutes before rebooting them.
- Press and hold the noise control button and the Digital Crown until the LED flashes amber.
Doing so will restart your AirPods Max.
For those wondering, the noise control button and the Digital Crown are found at the top of the left ear cup. Don’t forget to charge your AirPods Max before resetting them to avoid any further issues. When the AirPods Max battery charge is at twenty, ten and five percent remaining, you’ll receive a notification on the screen of your iOS device and hear a tone in the headphones.
How to reset AirPods Max to factory settings
If rebooting your AirPods Max hasn’t fixed the problem you’re having, you can also try resetting your AirPods Max to factory settings, which will unpair them from your iCloud account.
- Be sure to charge your AirPods Max for a few minutes before rebooting them.
- Simultaneously press and continue holding both the noise control button and the Digital Crown found on the left ear cup until the LED flashes amber, then white.
This will unpair the headphones from your iCloud account and reset them to factory settings. After resetting your AirPods Max, you can re-connect them by taking them out of the Smart Case and holding them next to your iPhone, iPad or Mac until you see a setup animation.
You can also pair your AirPods Max manually by going to the Bluetooth settings.
