iOS 14: How to disable motion artwork for playlists in Apple Music

Along with a slew of improvements and new features in iOS 14 and iPadOS 14, Apple brought a bit of entertainment too. If you use Apple Music, you might notice some movement on your screen. Apple added motion to the artwork for Apple Music playlists.
While the feature is a nifty one, it’s also not for everyone. If you’d like to disable motion artwork for playlists in Music, we’ll show you how.
Playlists in motion
In Music on iOS 14 and iPadOS 14, Apple replaced the For You tab with Listen Now. And this is where you’ll see that moving artwork.
If you enjoy some of Apple Music’s curated playlists, then you’ll notice that artwork in motion right away. With slow swaying motion for Chill and groovy moving for Get Up!, you’ll see the animated artwork for the playlist match the theme of its songs.
Disable motion artwork in Music
It’s a simple setting adjustment to turn off the moving playlist artwork. So head to your Settings and do the following.
1) In Settings, select Music.
2) Tap the option for Motion.
3) Select Off.
You’ll also notice an option for Wi-Fi Only. This is handy if you enjoy the animated artwork but don’t want to worry about data consumption. And of course, you can pop back to this section in your Settings later if you decide to give the motion artwork another try.
Wrapping it up
Sometimes it’s small enhancements like this that are just fun and nice to have. It’s nothing earth-shattering or necessary, but might just give you a little more enjoyment out of the Music app.
