New on Netflix, TimePie, Artifit, and other apps to check out this weekend
In this week’s edition of our Apps of the Week roundup we have an app that tells you when new content is added to Netflix, a subtle time manager, and an AI-run digital workout buddy. And as always, we’ve selected two great games for you to check out.
New on Netflix
New on Netflix is just what it sounds like…an app that tells you about new shows and movies that were recently added to the popular streaming service. It can also tell you when something is about to leave the service, so you can hurry up and watch it before it’s gone. The developers says the content is updated every day, with support for 7 regions.
TimePie
Whether you’re focused-in or zoned-out, TimePie notifies you of the time when it passes certain points on the clock. It also visualizes the time between those points as shrinking slices of…you guessed it, a pie. I absolutely love the concept of this app—subtle time management—but I hate that it’s $5. If you know of a similar app, shout it out in the comments.
Artifit – AI Personal Trainer
I know, I know, there are thousands of workout apps and programs out there, but this one stuck out for one big reason: it’s AI-guided. So all of that annoying stuff you normally have to do yourself—count your reps, track your rest time and focus on your form—the app does for you using your phones camera. You have to think this is the future.
Forza Street
Microsoft’s popular racing franchise comes to iOS with a wealth of features including collectable and upgradeable cars, true cinematic racing with amazing graphics, and a variety of race modes. It’s free-to-play, so of course the game is loaded with in-app purchases, but when a company like Microsoft releases a big title like this, you have to check it out.
Sandship: Crafting Factory
From the developers of Deep Town, Sandship is a factory management game set in a post-apocalyptic sci-fi universe. You control the last remaining sandship: a gigantic, AI mega-factory, which roams across the endless deserts of a far-away plant. Design futuristic factories from the ground up and help fight off a viscous cult hellbent on your destruction.
