Apple-owned Shazam updated with Split View multitasking support on iPad

Shazam, the Apple-owned song identification service that’s built into Siri, today pushed an update to its App Store app bringing support for side-by-side multitasking.
Release notes for version 13.3 mention that Shazam now supports Split View multitasking on iPads. “Next time you want to Shazam while watching a video on your iPad, just drag the Shazam app to the right or left edge of the screen to make a Split View,” reads the changelog.

Aside from Split View multitasking, the refreshed software packs an additional improvement: you can now quickly delete your Shazams by swiping left in the list view accessible from the Library. The update follows a February refresh which brought a new search functionality to find artists and songs to the software.
The free Shazam Encore app wasn’t updated at post time with these new features.
The iOS and iPadOS 13.4 updates which released yesterday brought a new Shazam It action to the Shortcuts app. With it, your iOS automation workflows can leverage a device’s microphone identify nearby songs, as well as use Shazan’s rich metadata in custom scripts and more.
Apple’s December 2017 deal to acquire Shazam for a reported $400 million has reportedly resulted in increased profit and user base for the popular song identification service.
