WeWake, LinkSum, JOI, and other apps to check out this weekend

In this week’s edition of our Apps of the Week roundup we have an alarm clock for friends, an app for storing and sharing links, and an easy-to-use mood journal. And as always, we’ve selected two great new games for you to check out.
weWake
This is kind of an interesting idea for folks who dread or at least have trouble waking up. weWake is a collaborative alarm clock that lets you set an alarm with friends and tackle mornings together. You can program its alarm function to call you with a fun fact, random joke, or of course conference you in with a friend or family member.
LinkSum
LinkSum is exactly what it sounds like—a place to store your web links. It’s kind of like a read-later app without all of the frills. Once you’ve added your links to the app you can look at previews, copy and share them within other apps, and even schedule an alert to remind you to open a link at a later time.
JOI
Here’s another one of those ‘mood journals.’ I’ve never really gotten into them myself, but every time I talk to someone who does they rave about it. JOI stood out to me for its simple emoji-based design. As with most journals, the easier it is, the more likely you are to use it. Warning: some features hidden behind a subscription.
Eri’s Forest
The insects of Eri’s Forest are acting strange and attacking perfectly healthy trees! As a forest guardian, you must help Eri protect the tree’s while figuring out what is causing the insects to act this way. It’s essentially a tower defense title, with a twist. Features include a unique lantern power up-s and gorgeous graphics.
Story of a Gladiator
Story of a Gladiator is an arena beat ’em up where you take the role of a man in search of his destiny. Fight against waves of enemies int he arena to earn coin and fame until you are strong enough to enter the colosseum and become champion. There are 3 arenas with 36 battles, 3 bosses, 80 gladiators and 20 animals with unique abilities.
