iOS lets you set up iPhone voicemail to create a personalized, custom voicemail to greet callers. It’s really simple to set up, and here’s how.

Set Up iPhone Voicemail

  1. Open the Phone app.
  2. On the bottom menu, tap Voicemail on the right.
  3. Tap Greeting. You’ll then see two options: Default and Custom.
  4. Tap Custom.
  5. Tap Record when you’re ready, then press Stop when you’re done.

If you don’t like it, you can go back and record a new voicemail, then play it back until you create one you like. Depending on which carrier you have, you may see an option that says Call Voicemail instead, like on my phone to the right. A robotic assistant will then help you set up a password, set a greeting, and provide other services.
