One of the most important mobile apps from Google, Gmail for iOS, was refreshed earlier this morning on App Store with official support for the edge-to-edge OLED screen on iPhone X.

With support for the native iPhone X display resolution, no longer does the app show those distracting black bars at the top and bottom of the screen.

Now Gmail, bumped to version 5.0.171217, takes full advantage of the Super Retina Display, running in fullscreen mode like other apps that feature iPhone X support.

The app recently gained the ability to add non-Google email accounts via the IMAP protocol.

Gmail for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch is a free download from App Store.
