Recent Updates- Read Before You Update

Last week Apple released a few updates. Two of those updates have issues.
1. Security Update 2012-001 (For Snow Leopard)- This update can kill the ability to run older PPC apps by killing Rosetta. Apple has pulled the update as of this past weekend and re-released it as the same name but version 1.1. You may install the 1.1 version. If you already ran the 1.0 version you can first try downloading the 1.1 version and installing it. If that does to work then you have to do a clean install of 10.6 and then run all the updates again.
2. Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3- There are always two updates for MacOS Updates. The Delta and the Combo update. The Delta updates take you from the last version to current. For example, in this case 10.7.2 to 10.7.3. The Combo updates take you from 10.7.0 to 10.7.3. We always recommend running the combo update every time but if you run your updates through software update, it only provides you with the Delta update because it is a fraction of the size. This time the Delta update is corrupted and does not install some necessary files. The easy fix for this issue is to download the Combo update and install it. Even installing it over the Delta update will fix the problem. Here is a download link…..
