With the new NBA season upon us what better way to celebrate than to pick up a fun new basketball-themed iPhone game!<\/p>\n

BasketRoll: Rolling Ball Game<\/a> combines basketball and road racing in an endless runner frame and comes up with a fun new game. <\/span><\/p>\n

Available for free through the iTunes Store, with ads and IAPs, this game is controlled like a first-person driving game but instead of racing a car you’re trying to keep a ball on the track while collecting as many points as possible. <\/span><\/p>\n

Features<\/b>: \"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

BasketRoll, from Sergey Basko<\/a>, challenges players to control the speed and direction of the rolling basketball (or soccer ball as well as some other fun designs) so that you hit as many stars as possible without falling off the track down to the forest below. <\/span><\/p>\n

As you might expect, advancing in the game means that the challenges thrown in front of you get crazier and crazier and harder and harder to overcome. There will be ramps that you can fall off of, traffic cones that don’t kill you if you hit them but do stop you until you mange to get through the open space between two cones, giant fans that will test your timing, and more.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the upper right corner you’ll see how many stars the board has and of those how many you’ve hit. A pause button is the upper left. Hitting this lets you adjust the speed of the ball, the tilt sensitivity and switch sounds, music and shadows on and off. Hit the “play” arrow to resume.<\/p>\n

You can also go to the main screen but if you do that you can’t pick up where you left off, you have to start over again, usually after watching an ad.<\/p>\n

Other options include selecting your choice of 25 ball styles, some of which you have to spend points to get, using coins to buy checkpoints or buying coins or combo packs with real money. You can also watch ads to get coins or checkpoints and see your detailed stats.<\/p>\n

The graphics here are very well done and the whole game looks highly polished.<\/p>\n

All controls are pretty simple to get to and since there aren’t too many of them, you’ll have it all down pat pretty quickly.<\/p>\n

The movement of the ball and your progress along the track is very smooth, at least with more recent devices, so the game play is just what you want it to be. Very colorful with smooth animations.<\/span><\/p>\n

BasketRoll is a free app. You can opt to pay $1.99 to go ad-free and buy coins or combo packs but you really don’t have to spend anything to enjoy this game for hours and hours. The ads that do appear are not much of a problem, they don’t pop up much and when they do you’ll see a full screen ad that you can cancel after 20 or 30 seconds.<\/span><\/p>\n

BasketRoll is definitely a fun time wasting game and something you can just open and play. No big intro or complicated strategies. Just roll the ball as long as you can. How simple is that?<\/span><\/p>\n

Overall, we found the game fun to play and easy to get started with. You may get bored with it after a while but so what? Download it for free and have some fun.<\/span><\/p>\n
