Or they can go to the Find My app and see that you stopped sharing your location with them. Similarly, restarting location sharing sends an alert, as shown in the screenshot below.<\/p>\n<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1059409\" src=\"https:\/\/media.idownloadblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Find-My-started-sharing-location-with-you-notification-on-iPhone.jpg\" alt=\"Find My started sharing location with you notification on iPhone\" width=\"350\" height=\"258\" \/> <\/p>\n<p>iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, and watchOS 27 introduce a feature they call \u201c<strong>Flexible Location Sharing<\/strong>.\u201d What this does is give you the option to pause location sharing temporarily and resume it, without alerting the other person.<\/p>\n<p>During the pause period, even if the person opens their Find My app to see your location, it just shows an arbitrary \u201c<strong>No Location Found<\/strong>.\u201d It doesn&#8217;t reveal that you stopped sharing your location with them for a short while.<\/p>\n<p>Pausing the location can be helpful if you&#8217;re trying to <strong>surprise someone<\/strong> with your visit, go out to buy a gift or an engagement ring for them, and so on.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, many people on X have shared concern that this new Apple feature <strong>encourages cheaters<\/strong> by giving them an option to hide their location from their partners without alerting them.<\/p>\n<p>That said, here&#8217;s how to temporarily stop sharing your Find My location with a person without informing them.<\/p>\n<h2>iPhone or iPad<\/h2>\n<p><strong>1)<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idownloadblog.com\/2026\/06\/09\/install-ios-27\/\">Update your iPhone or iPad to iOS 27 or iPadOS 27<\/a> (currently both are in beta stage).<\/p>\n<p><strong>2)<\/strong> Open the <strong>Find My app<\/strong>, go to the <strong>People<\/strong> tab, and tap the person&#8217;s name.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3)<\/strong> Tap the recently revealed <strong>three-dot menu icon<\/strong> in their name tile.<\/p>\n<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1059412\" src=\"https:\/\/media.idownloadblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Select-a-person-in-iOS-27-Find-My-and-tap-menu-icon.jpg\" alt=\"Select a person in iOS 27 Find My and tap menu icon\" width=\"1676\" height=\"1665\" \/> <\/p>\n<p><strong>4)<\/strong> Tap <strong>Hide Location<\/strong> in the <em>My Location<\/em> section and confirm. You&#8217;ll see a label that indicates when temporary location sharing resumes automatically, or you can return to this screen before that and tap <strong>Unhide Location<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1059413\" src=\"https:\/\/media.idownloadblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Hide-and-Unhide-Location-in-Find-My-on-iPhone.jpg\" alt=\"Hide and Unhide Location in Find My on iPhone\" width=\"1676\" height=\"1665\" \/> <\/p>\n<h2>Mac<\/h2>\n<p>The steps to hide your location temporarily using the Find My app on Mac are similar to those on iOS.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Update your Mac to macOS 27 Golden Gate or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idownloadblog.com\/2026\/06\/16\/install-macos-27-on-partition\/\">install it on a partition<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Open the <strong>Find My app<\/strong> and click the person&#8217;s name in the <strong>People<\/strong> tab to expand it.<\/li>\n<li>Click the <strong>three-dot menu icon<\/strong> next to their name.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Hide Location<\/strong> and confirm. Click <strong>Unhide Location<\/strong> to resume sharing location with them.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1059414\" src=\"https:\/\/media.idownloadblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Hide-Location-in-Find-My-on-Mac.jpg\" alt=\"Hide Location in Find My on Mac\" width=\"2940\" height=\"1912\" \/> <\/p>\n<h2>Apple Watch<\/h2>\n<p>watchOS 27 has unified <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idownloadblog.com\/2025\/08\/25\/how-to-use-find-my-apple-watch\/\">three separate apps<\/a> \u2013 Find Devices, Find Items, and Find People \u2013 into a single app called Find My, as it has been on iOS and macOS.<\/p>\n<p>Follow these steps to temporarily pause location sharing from your wrist.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.idownloadblog.com\/2026\/06\/25\/install-watchos27\/\">Update your Apple Watch to watchOS 27<\/a> (as of writing, it&#8217;s also in beta).<\/li>\n<li>Open the new <strong>Find My app<\/strong>, and you should see a <em>dual-person icon<\/em> at the top-left corner, signifying you&#8217;re in the <em>Find People<\/em> section. If it shows a <em>MacBook-iPhone icon<\/em> or a <em>four-AirTags icon<\/em>, tap it and select <strong>People<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Tap the person&#8217;s name (you may have to swipe down to find them).<\/li>\n<li>Scroll down and tap <strong>Hide Location<\/strong>.
