That ruling found that Apple\u2019s redesigned watches do not infringe Masimo\u2019s patents related to blood-oxygen sensing technology.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/legal\/litigation\/apple-defeats-bid-new-apple-watch-import-ban-us-trade-tribunal-2026-04-17\/\">Reuters<\/a>:<br \/>  \u200e<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p> Danaher-owned Masimo can appeal the decision to the Washington-based U.S. \u200bCourt of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe thank the ITC for its decision, \u200bwhich ensures we can continue to offer this important health feature to \u200bour users,\u201d Apple said. \u201cFor more than six years, Masimo has waged a relentless legal campaign against Apple, and nearly all of its claims have been rejected.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The two \u200bcompanies have been embroiled in a long-running legal dispute after Masimo \u200baccused Apple of hiring away its employees to steal pulse-oximetry technology for determining blood \u200coxygen \u2060levels.<\/p>\n<p>The ITC blocked imports of Apple\u2019s Series 9 and Ultra 2 smartwatches in December 2023 after finding that they infringed Masimo\u2019s patents. Apple removed blood-oxygen reading technology from its watches to avoid the ban, but reintroduced an \u200bupdated version of \u200bthe technology last \u2060August with approval from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.<\/p>\n<p>Updated watches display health data from the blood-oxygen reader on \u200bassociated Apple devices like the iPhone and not the \u200bwatch \u2060itself.
