After the assigned time period, that particular website won&#8217;t be accessible until midnight (when the limit resets).<\/p>\n<p>Setting time limits for websites makes sense when you don&#8217;t want to block them entirely (like you might <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idownloadblog.com\/2018\/12\/03\/block-websites-on-iphone-ipad\/\">with adult sites on a child&#8217;s device<\/a>) but instead want to encourage balanced daily usage.<\/p>\n<h2>Set a daily time limit for unproductive websites on iPhone, iPad, or Mac<\/h2>\n<p><strong>1)<\/strong> Open the iOS <strong>Settings app<\/strong> on your child&#8217;s iPhone or iPad or <strong>System Settings<\/strong> on their Mac and then select <strong>Screen Time<\/strong>. <em>We&#8217;re using an iPhone to demo the process.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>If your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idownloadblog.com\/2025\/12\/26\/apple-family-setup\/\">child is added to your Apple digital family<\/a>, you can follow these steps on your device and then select your child&#8217;s name under the <em>Family<\/em> section.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2)<\/strong> Make sure <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idownloadblog.com\/2025\/11\/28\/set-screen-time-passcode\/\">Screen Time passcode is set up<\/a>. Then, enter the Screen Time passcode if asked.<\/p>\n<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1057266\" src=\"https:\/\/media.idownloadblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Tap-App-Limits-followed-by-Add-Limit-in-iPhone-Screen-Time-settings.jpg\" alt=\"Tap App Limits followed by Add Limit in iPhone Screen Time settings\" width=\"1676\" height=\"1665\" \/> <\/p>\n<p><strong>4)<\/strong> Scroll past the app categories and tap <strong>Websites<\/strong> from the bottom. You may see some recently accessed websites here. If they are the ones you want to put a limit on, select one or more and tap <strong>Next<\/strong>. If the site isn&#8217;t listed, tap <strong>Add Website<\/strong>, enter the website URL (like <strong><em>samsung.com<\/em><\/strong>), then tap <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1057261\" src=\"https:\/\/media.idownloadblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Adding-website-for-time-limit-on-iPhone.jpg\" alt=\"Adding website for time limit on iPhone\" width=\"1676\" height=\"1665\" \/> <\/p>\n<p><strong>5)<\/strong> Use the hour and minute sliders to set a time limit. You can also tap <em>Customize Days<\/em> to set a custom daily limit for some days. Then, make sure <strong>Block at End of Limit<\/strong> is enabled, and tap the checkmark icon.<\/p>\n<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1057265\" src=\"https:\/\/media.idownloadblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Setting-time-limit-for-website-in-iOS-Screen-Time.jpg\" alt=\"Setting time limit for website in iOS Screen Time\" width=\"1676\" height=\"1665\" \/> <\/p>\n<p><strong>6)<\/strong> Finally, I will advise <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idownloadblog.com\/2021\/11\/01\/how-to-force-quit-apps-iphone-ipad\/\">force-closing all open apps<\/a> (Settings, Safari, Chrome, etc.) or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idownloadblog.com\/2023\/01\/23\/how-to-turn-off-and-turn-on-iphone-ipad\/\">restarting the device<\/a>. Without force-closing and restarting, the new limits may not come into effect immediately.<\/p>\n<p>The website is now time-restricted. Once your child has spent that many hours or minutes on the website, it will be blocked for the rest of the day. The child can tap <strong>Ask For More Time<\/strong> and use the website for one more minute. But if they want to use it beyond that grace period, they will have to ask for your approval (which you can permit or deny) or enter the Screen Time passcode, which I hope you haven&#8217;t shared with them.<\/p>\n<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1057262\" src=\"https:\/\/media.idownloadblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Ask-for-more-time-to-use-blocked-website-on-iPhone.jpg\" alt=\"Ask for more time to use blocked website on iPhone\" width=\"1676\" height=\"1665\" \/> <\/p>\n<p>If you set the limit on your child&#8217;s iPhone or iPad, that website is blocked not only in Apple&#8217;s Safari browser, but also in Google Chrome, Firefox, and other browsers, including in-app browsers (like the one in the X app).<\/p>\n<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1057268\" src=\"https:\/\/media.idownloadblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Website-blocked-in-Chrome-Firefox-and-in-app-browser-on-iPhone.jpg\" alt=\"Website blocked in Chrome Firefox and in-app browser on iPhone\" width=\"2514\" height=\"1665\" \/> <\/p>\n<p>However, on Mac, the website is blocked <strong>only<\/strong> in Safari. The same time-restricted website can be accessed in Chrome, Firefox, etc.<\/p>\n<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1057269\" src=\"https:\/\/media.idownloadblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Website-time-limited-and-blocked-in-Safari-on-Mac.jpg\" alt=\"Website time limited and blocked in Safari on Mac\" width=\"2940\" height=\"1912\" \/> <\/p>\n<h2>Change the website time limit or remove it<\/h2>\n<p>You can increase or decrease the daily time limit for the website or delete it altogether.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Return to <strong>Screen Time settings<\/strong> and tap <strong>App Limits<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Tap the added website limit and enter the Screen Time passcode.<\/li>\n<li>Use the <strong>Time<\/strong> field to change it. Turn off <strong>Block at End of Limit<\/strong> to keep the daily limit, without restricting access once the limit is over.
